The folly
This is my first attempt. I'm trying to touch-type but decide to give up. I've not only forgotten the keyboard layout but this keyboard was designed by Mickey Mouse - slightly smaller than a proper keyboard with rubbery keys. Arthritic fingers don't help either. Excuses!
It's amazing how I can never think of anything to type. Writer's block, I believe it's called.
I know, I'll talk about what I've done this week, 24th -30th June. Today, Thursday, we have been to the Ferry Boat for lunch with Pat's group. My meal was delicious but, my-oh-my, grub is getting expensive. Yesterday I went to Family Search, a U3a group. We've recently moved to the library from sharing the Pavilion on Moor Lane with the Scrabble Group. Much quieter!
Tuesday was Keep Fit in the morning followed by the monthly U3a meeting, both in the Village Hall.
Next week's walk is at Culverthorpe, south west of Sleaford. I've not done a walk there before. To get there we go through Swarby where Merv used to live. Following the walk, those who wish are going to Pennells at Silk Willoughby for lunch. I've still got £6 on a Pennells voucher and a tenner on a general gardening voucher which is valid at Pennells.
December 2025 - Branston to Lincoln
This is a walk I led towards the end of last year. We started at Branston Village Hall and set off across the playing field. We wound our way through the estate down to the entry onto a footpath which runs along the beck. It eventually meets Cliff Lane which we took and continued onto Church Hill. Normally we would go through the Chapel car park but this was rather muddy (it was winter!) so we turned left along Main Road and right into Station Lane. At the old Station house we turned left along the Water Rail Way. This leads into Lincoln after just under 2 miles.
On approaching the Titanic building we turned left to go round the back and through the car park which leads to Great Northern Terrace. At the traffic lights we continued onto Tentercroft Street, took a right across the car park, over the railway bridge and along St Marys Street to the bus station. The walkers had been advised to bring their bus passes for a free ride home.
