Sudbrooke and Scothern walk 10th June 2026

14 walkers met at the Sudbrooke Village Hall car park for a walk led by Phil. We were met with heavy rain and the forecast was not good. However, the rain soon stopped and we set out on the road towards Scothern.

As we approached the school we crossed the road and turned left into Juniper Drive which led to The Alders. At the end was a gated entrance to a small park which we crossed to a track which came out opposite St. Germain church. We turned right along Church Steet and, at the junction with Sudbrooke Road, crossed to Claypole Lane. After a few yards we turned left into Chapel Walk, an attractive walk between houses, to the junction with Main Street. Here we crossed over and entered a path running alongside Scothern Village Hall. This lead to a track between hedges and then to open fields where the track curved right to meet a minor road. A right here took us back to the Main Street where we turned left. We continued until taking a right turn along a track, past a farm and approached Sudbrooke Park .

We took a right and continued around the Park, past houses, and taking a left then right, entered some woods, passed a lake and turned right to walk through a grassy area alongside a dyke. On meeting a road we turned right, then left, bringing us to Scothern road. A right turn took us back to our starting point.

Despite a light shower the weather was fine for most of the walk which was just under 5 miles. Fortunately the predicted heavy rain did not materialise.
